My Approach
My approach is warm, empathic and non-judgemental. As a psychotherapist who is psychodynamically oriented I work in an in-depth way to bring about a better understanding of your inner world. I provide the space and guidance to pause and reflect, to feel your feelings and contemplate the relevance of earlier experiences and relationships in order to make sense of the present, make links, and gain new insights.
The sessions are led by you with you determining what to explore in each session while I orient us towards achieving your theapy goals.
Initial Session
Your initial session with me is a chance for me to get to know you better and understand in greater detail what’s led you to seek therapy and what you would like to gain from having therapy. The session is also an opportunity for you to feel what it might be like to work with me. The session may last up to 90 mins and at the end of the session we decide together if we feel we are a good fit and discuss booking in more sessions.
Free Consultation
I offer a free 15 min telephone call to talk briefly about your difficulties and how I might be able to help. If you decide to book an initial session with me we can arrange this during the call. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask me questions.
Weekly Sessions
Once we begin psychotherapy sessions we make a commitment to meet weekly at the same day and time each week for a minimum of 8 sessions as consistency is an important part of effective therapy.
You have the option of time limited therapy e.g., deciding on a specific number of sessions you’d like to have, or open ended therapy which has no end date. We can discuss this when we begin working together.
Fees
£80 per session
Concessionary rates £65 for those on low income
Cancellation Policy
In working together I reserve a time slot for you on a given day and time each work as we are making a commitment to work together, there is therefore a full charge for cancellations though where possible I would always try to re-arrange your session within the week.
